Our Mission

For many years, many of us have been connected through Facebook, helping whenever someone is in need. Some of us have never even met in person, but the support and kindness shared in this community have always been real.

Today is a special occasion for us to finally come together and appreciate the many people who have helped again and again without expecting anything in return.

Over the years, many have contributed through our Kentang Facebook community under the name of Kuan Chee Heng. Many supporters helped strangers without ever meeting them in real life. This spirit of kindness is something very special.

Through the years we have walked alongside the poor, the sick and the hungry. We have seen many difficult situations. At the same time, we have also seen how a small act of kindness can give hope to someone who is going through a very hard time. Sometimes all people need is someone to care and lend a helping hand.

Many bedridden patients suffering from cancer, stroke and other illnesses still struggle to find affordable ambulance services or basic help. With the support of our volunteers, donors and followers on Uncle Kentang’s Facebook page, we continue trying our best to help where we can.

The Malaysia Kind Hearts Award was created to recognise individuals and organisations who have walked together with us in this journey of helping others. Many of them work quietly behind the scenes. They do not look for recognition, but their kindness has made a real difference in many lives.

This evening also gives us the chance to meet one another, share experiences and exchange ideas on how we can continue helping more people in the future.

We know that poverty cannot be completely removed overnight. But we believe that we can reduce hunger and ease suffering if more people come forward to help. We may not be able to cure every illness, but we can make life a little easier for those who are going through difficult times.

To all the recipients of the Malaysia Kind Hearts Award, we would like to congratulate and thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your actions have touched many lives and inspired others to do the same.

We hope that more Malaysians will continue to support efforts to help the sick, the poor and the hungry. When more people come together with compassion, we can bring more care, hope and kindness into our communities.

The Malaysia Kind Hearts Award started with a simple idea, which is to recognise good people who are quietly doing good work. We hope this initiative will continue for many years to come.
